Turn your offcuts into an irresistible kitchen splashback!
Are you unsure what to do with your leftover Gerflor flooring? We have found an alternative solution for our flooring! Obviously, Gerflor primarily offers PVC floor coverings, but there is nothing to stop you from laying them on anything other than a floor... (*see conditions at the bottom of the page)
Here at Gerflor, we love taking a fresh look at old ceramic tiles and using them as inspiration to come up with trendy patterns and colours. Alexandra (Instagram account @le_petit_marius) sent us her excellent tip for an alternative use of our Gerflor tiles.
Driven by the chic bohemian trend, old cement tiles are making a strong comeback for floors, splashbacks and wall tiles. The idea of having cement tiles came to her while she was browsing in her local homeware and DIY stores.
She was keen to get this type of splashback for her kitchen, but she did not want to get involved in a lot of major renovation work, so the solution of using PVC tiles seemed the obvious way to go. Therefore, Alexandra decided to give the tiles in the Senso Premium Self-Adhesive collection a different purpose by using them as a kitchen splashback.
In this collection, the Cordoba design is available in Black & White and a sandy colour, while it comes in a whole range of colours in our other collections to give character and originality to your kitchen.
This PVC floor covering boasts excellent waterproof qualities, meaning that it can be installed in wet areas without the slightest fear.
To make the cement tile effect even more realistic, Alexandra has left a gap between the different tiles so that she can connect them with a joint.
This is an excellent idea for bringing extra character and authenticity to the room and playing with the kitchen's mood.
If you like this idea and decide to replace your splashback using one of our flooring coverings, feel free to tag us on our Instagram account (@gerflorhome) and we'll be only too happy to share your creations!
